*2010 Boys (U-12)

Head Coach – Grant Watson
“Grant will be re-joining our staff for the upcoming 2021-2022 cycle and we couldn’t be more excited.  He has been a mainstay with our ODP program for last few years and it’s great for us to have him be back with us.  Having coaches with Grant’s background, both as a player and as a coach, is massive for our program.  The National C license coach (currently enrolled in National B) is looking forward to working with the youngest age group once again, as he was the Head Coach of the youngest age group two cycles ago.”

Assistant Coach – Roberto Aguayo
*New to our staff for this upcoming 2021-2022 cycle, Roberto is super excited to be a part of our ODP program moving forward.  We, too, are very excited to add someone with Roberto’s experience to our staff, we know he is going to fit in very well with Grant and the boys in this age group.  The current Grassroots license coach has spent the last several years working with players in the. Youngest age groups and we know that this experience alone with be of much value to our program.  Roberto comes highly recommended by other coaches on our staff and we know the 2010 Boys are in great hands.”

*2009 Boys (U-13)

Head Coach – Octavio Posada
“Octavio will begin his second season with our program this cycle.  A National D license coach, he brings close to 20 years of coaching experience to our staff, both in Las Vegas and different parts of New York state.  Growing up on the East Coast, Octavio played club soccer for nationally recognized youth soccer club, Blau Weiss Gottschee, then attended and played college soccer at both Ulster County Community College and Long Island University.  We are excited to welcome Octavio back for Year 2 on our staff!”

Assistant Coach – Miguel Gomez
“New to our staff this cycle, Miguel enjoyed a very successful playing career and has spent that last several years developing into a good, young coach.  Growing up in Arkansas, Miguel attended and played college soccer at Eastern Oklahoma State College.  He was recruited to play for Pachuca FC in 2011 and eventually played 2nd division in Mexico for a couple of different clubs.  Now holding his National D license, we know Miguel is a very welcome addition to our staff.”

*2008 Boys (U-14)

Head Coach – Irvin Somera
“Now entering his 4th season with our ODP program, we know the time is right for Irvin to move into a Head Coach position.  During the 2019-2020 cycle, Irvin was the Assistant Coach for the 2008 Boys age group so we know his promotion to being in charge of this age group will be seamless.  Besides holding his National D coaching license (currently working towards his National C) and having years of coaching experience under his belt, Irvin was a very accomplished player as well.  A Nevada native, having grown up in Reno, Irvin played college soccer at both Peninsula College (1 year) and UNLV for his final 3 years of eligibility.  We are looking forward to having Irvin be a part of our staff again this cycle.”

Assistant Coach – Harold Albaugh
“Another new coach to the ODP cycle for 2021-2022, Harold brings a sense of enthusiasm and excitement to our staff.  Harold has been inquiring about being on our staff for the last couple of years and we are very happy that we had an opening for him to join.  It is with a talented age group for our area and the boys will be more than pleased with having Harold around to help them throughout this upcoming cycle.  He also brings a a high level of professionalism to the table and that will work really well with Irvin and his style.  These two coaches are going to bring a lot to the field for this group of boys and we know this particular age group will be highly competitive at the Region IV Championships.”

*2007 Boys (U-15)

Head Coach - Tommy Tate
“We are so excited to welcome Tommy back to our ODP program for this upcoming 2021-2022 cycle.  One of the most experienced coaches in not only Nevada but in all of Region IV, we know that the 2007 Boys age group is in great hands with this former Division 1 College and Professional soccer player.  A National A licensed coach, many don’t know that Tommy is not only able to claim collegiate (D1) and club coaching experience on his resume, but also US Women’s National Team coaching experience as well in two different stints (from 2002-2005 with the U-15 and U-17 teams and from 2009-2010 with the U-23 team and the Full National Team).  Needless to say, it’s great Tommy wanted to be back involved and we look forward to having him on our staff moving forward.”

Assistant Coach – Richard Susainathan
“A newcomer to our ODP coaching staff for the upcoming 2021-2022 cycle, Richard brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to our program.  With roughly two decades of coaching experience completed, Richard is another coach on our staff that holds the National D coaching license.  Having coached a variety of levels and age groups, Richard brings a ton of versatility to our staff and we are super excited that he will be a part of it moving forward.  Beyond the coaching experience, Richard also brings a comprehensive international playing background to our staff as well.  When you add it all up, we know he is going to be a welcome addition to our staff.”

*2006 Boys (U-16)

Head Coach – Rodrigo Fuentes
“We are super excited to announce that Rodrigo will be re-joining our ODP Staff for the upcoming 2021-2022 cycle.  Rodrigo has been a part of the staff for the last few years and his experience in the program and preparing teams and players for the Region IV Event in Arizona is very important for us to have in our program.  The now National C license coach, Rodrigo has become very passionate with his profession and we know he is going to do an amazing job this upcoming cycle.  Rodrigo also has an extensive playing back ground, most notably his college career with UNLV, where he was a two-time All-Conference player as well as becoming a First Team All-Region player in 2014.  We know with the combination of coaching and playing back ground, Rodrigo will be a great fit with the 2006 Boys.”

Assistant Coach – TBD

*2005 Boys (U-17)

Head Coach
– Oscar Velazquez
“Oscar will be entering his 3rd year with our staff on a full-time basis, his 4th cycle that he has been a part of it overall.  This opportunity for Oscar is one that he does not take lightly, he has been trending towards becoming a Head Coach in our program the last two years.  We know that this time is right for Oscar to take over this age group for their final year and make sure the players have a memorable experience.  Oscar had a very distinguished playing career at UNLV and he has applied all that he learned as a player, into his style of coaching.  The National D license coach, who is in the process of attaining the National C license, works very well with the older players, he is currently one of the Assistant Coaches with the College of Southern Nevada Men’s Soccer program (and Women’s Program now) and he is looking forward to working with and coaching this age group this cycle.”

Assistant Coach – Miguel Rubio
“New to our staff for this upcoming cycle, Miguel brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience with him to the 2005 Boys age group.  Along with that, Miguel is also an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Program at CSN so he works directly with college players which we feel is invaluable for this age group.  We would also be remiss if we did not mention that Miguel and Oscar coach together at CSN and have worked together on other staffs so we know that this tandem will do an outstanding job coaching and working with the oldest boys ODP age group.  Miguel, who played collegiately for both Yavapi College in Arizona and CSN, also earned an opportunity to train and play professionally down in Mexico with Queretaro FC so we know we are providing the 2005 boys age group a knowledgeable and cohesive staff.”

*2010 Girls (U-12)

Head Coach – Pedram Mahinpey
“Back for his second year on our coaching staff, Pedram returns to help the youngest age group, which he worked with 2 cycles ago.  During that 2019-2020 cycle, the stars aligned for the 2008 Girls age group and with Pedram at the helm, the team enjoyed a magical event and came out on top as the Champion, defeating Colorado in the Final.  Pedram did a fantastic job coaching, developing, and managing the group throughout that entire process and we know that he is looking forward to the opportunity to work with this youngest age group once again.  There is no doubt that Pedram will create a team that will be considered by many the “team to beat” in Phoenix (January 2022) but we know this National B license coach, with so much experience, will have the girls prepared to take on all challengers that want to beat one of the top 2010 Girls teams in Region IV.”

Assistant Coach – Troy Putnam
“A welcome addition to the 2010 Girls staff this upcoming cycle is Coach Troy Putnam.  Now entering his third year with our ODP program, Troy has worked with a couple of different age groups to help out where needed but having him join Pedram with the 2010’s this cycle really takes this group to another level and he will help in so many ways.  A National C license coach in his own right, Troy has the ability to be both a Head and Assistant Coach in our program, which he has already been both.  That flexibility, positive demeanor, and pure want to help the kids (and program) however he can, makes Troy a big part of our Nevada South ODP coaching staff.  We know that with both Troy and Pedram overseeing this age group is going to provide our 2010 Girls with an amazing experience and the best shot to earn a Region IV title.”

*2009 Girls (U-13)

Head Coach – TBD

Assistant Coach – David Ostler
“New to our staff this cycle, we look forward to having David work with our 2009 Girls age group.  David has enjoyed an almost two decade run of coaching a variety of levels here in Las Vegas.  He has been a mainstay at El Dorado High School, having coached at the school since 2002, with both the Girls and Boys Varsity teams during those 18 years, while achieving a great deal of success with both programs.  David has also coached at the youth/club level since 2012, having coached various Girls and Boys teams for all age groups.  It is that versatility and experience that makes this National D license coach a valued addition to our staff.  We are excited to welcome him in to our Nevada South State ODP program coaching staff for the 2020-2021 cycle!”

*2008 Girls (U-14)

 Head Coach – Ali Skogrand
“Ali enters her third cycle with our ODP program and .  We are excited for Ali to continue to work with this age group, what will be the girls second year overall playing 11 v 11.  We know Ali’s coaching experience at the younger age groups, mixed in with her experience coaching the older age groups at the Club level will no doubt be an asset for this age group.  As this group continues to get older, the fact that Ali has a total of almost five years of coaching experience at the college level, both at Fresno Pacific University (an NCAA Division 2 program) and the last two years at College of Southern Nevada (local Junior College program) is valuable.  On top of that, having played D2 college soccer at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri, sets this National C license coach apart from most.  Needless to say, we look forward to another exciting year for the 2007 Girls age group.”

Assistant Coach – William “Bill” Doyle
“Another new coach to our Nevada South ODP program this cycle, we are really looking forward to Bill fitting in right away and joining our coaching staff.  A National D license coach who has put a lot of time and effort into his coaching education over the last couple of years, we know Bill is more than ready to be involved.  A coach with a great mentality of being willing to work with whatever age group and gender possible, this perspective will serve him well as a coach moving forward.  Bill has really solidified himself in the younger age groups of youth soccer and we are excited for him to work directly with Ali to provide a very experienced and enthusiastic staff for the 07 Girls age group.  The 07 Girls is a very talented age group and we know Bill will help bring out the best in the entire pool of players.”

*2007 Girls (U-15)

Head Coach – James Manning
“We welcome back James for his fourth year on our Nevada South ODP coaching staff this upcoming 2021-2022 cycle.  With that being said, this will be James’ first year as a Girls ODP coach and we are so thrilled that he wanted to be involved with the Girls side of our program.  For four full seasons, James was on the University of Connecticut Women’s Soccer coaching staff, from Fall 2007-Spring 2011, one of the top D1 programs in the East Region.  This experience alone is something that most in the coaching world will never get the chance to be a part of so we want the 07 Girls in our program to learn and develop under the guidance of James and what better time to start that then this upcoming cycle.  This National C license coach, who played Division 1 college soccer at Central Connecticut State, brings so much energy and charisma to the field on a daily basis, we can’t wait for James to get with our 07 Girls age group this cycle.”

Assistant Coach –  Ron Paredes
“New to our ODP program this upcoming 2021-2022 cycle, Ron brings with him well over a decade of coaching experience to our coaching staff.  Currently coaching at a variety of levels and genders in Southern California, Ron has also lived in Hawaii growing up and here in Las Vegas, where he attended and graduated from UNLV.  Since his arrival in Southern California a few years back, Ron has coached higher level younger teams on both the Girls and Boys side and currently is on the Girls coaching staff at Saddleback High School.  This National C license coach has a fantastic demeanor and style that will fit in really well with this group of girls.  We know the 07 girls are in a fantastic situation this cycle, with two very good coaches that are focused on the players continued development….while looking to compete for a Region IV championship.”

*2006 Girls (U-16)

Head Coach – Eric McDonald
“We are super excited to announce that Eric has joined our coaching staff for the upcoming 2021-2022 ODP cycle, as he wanted to get involved and help the program any way possible.  A coach with over 20 years of coaching experience at the highest levels of youth soccer, Eric brings a ton of versatility and credibility to our coaching staff and we know that the 06 Girls age group is in a great spot with Eric overseeing the age group.  Eric, who holds his National C coaching license, also grew up playing the game at a very high level and was fortunate enough to play overseas during his college and young adult years so his international playing experience provides a much greater and thorough perspective to his coaching skill set.  There is no doubt this is going to be an amazing cycle for all of our age groups but we can’t wait for Eric and Ron to get going with the 2006 girls.”

Assistant Coach – Adrian Ruelas
“Joining Eric as the Assistant Coach for the 2006 Girls age group is first time Nevada South ODP coach Adrian Ruelas.  We are really looking forward to Adrian joining our coaching staff this upcoming cycle, as he is a young, bright, up and coming coach who has a fantastic perspective on the game.  A coach who has been coaching for just under eight years, Adrian currently lives in Southern California where he coaches not only at the youth level but also at the college level.  He joined the East L.A. Community College coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in January 2019 and he was also with St. Katherine College as the Director of Soccer Operations for a year (March 2013-March2014).  A National D license coach who has goals and aspirations to achieve much more in his coaching career, we know that the 2006 Girls age group has a very good tandem working with them this cycle.”

*2005 Girls (U-17)

Head Coach – Jocelyn Roach
“We welcome Jocelyn back into the NYSA ODP Program.  Over a span that stretched for almost a decade, Jocelyn worked with the ODP program in a conditioning role.  She has coached for well over 15 years and is currently the College of Southern Nevada Women’s Soccer Head Coach.  We know that Jocelyn brings so much value to our program and are so thrilled that she will be coaching the oldest age group during their final cycle.  We know she is going to go out of her way to make sure the girls have an amazing experience on their way out.”

Assistant Coach – Steven Linquist
“Another new coach to our NYSA ODP Coaching Staff for the 2020-2021 cycle, we are so very happy to be able to  announce that Steven will be working with our 2005 Girls age group.  Steven is currently one of the Assistant Coaches fOr the Southern Utah Women’s Soccer program based in Cedar City, Utah.  In total, Steven has 4 years of coaching at the D1 level, not to mention his multiple years with youth clubs, makes this announcement extremely valuable and something that should excite the entire 05 Girls age group heading into the new cycle.”

*Girls and Boys*

Goalkeeper Coach – Abdel Rodriguez
“Returning to our Nevada South ODP coaching staff for his fourth official season, Abdel has actually been involved with our ODP program off and on for more than the last three seasons working with and helping the development of our ODP goalkeepers.  As our most tenured goalkeeper coach, we are very happy that Abdel will once again be working directly with our Girl’s and Boy’s goalkeepers this upcoming 2021-2022 cycle.  Abdel has established himself as one of the top Goalkeeper trainers not only in our state but around the country and we know that our girls and boys benefit immensely from the coaching they receive from him.  The National D license coach has also found his way into Cashman Field over the last couple of years as well, where he has served as  the Goalkeeper Coach for the Las Vegas Lights FC.  A very good GK in his own right, who played and graduated from UNLV, Abdel’s wealth of knowledge as a player and a coach helps with all that he does with the GKs he works with.”
